Terms of service

These terms cover the PassDrive app and this website, both published by ITSS. Using either of them means you accept what is set out here.

Last updated 13 September 2026
In short

Study material for the theory test — not the official test itself

One-off payment. Nothing renews and nothing is billed again

Apple and Google take the payment, so refunds go through them

Irish law, and your consumer rights are untouched

In practice

What this means on an ordinary day

The policy below is the full version. This is the part that changes anything for you.

Practice, not the paper

The questions are written by us to teach the same material. They are not the official examination questions — no practice app has those, whatever it claims.

Bought once, kept

An unlock is a single payment. Nothing renews, nothing is billed again, and it follows the store account that bought it onto your next phone.

Wrong answer? Tell us

We keep the material in line with the Rules of the Road and fix mistakes in the next update. Where we disagree with the official version, the official version wins.

What PassDrive is

PassDrive helps you prepare for the Irish driver theory test: practice questions with an explanation after each one, timed mock exams set to the real rules, the road-sign library and study guides.

The questions are written by us for practice. They are not the official examination questions, and no practice app has those. Scoring well here means you have learned the material, which is the point — but it is not a promise that you will pass, and we cannot make one.

Keeping it accurate

We keep the material in line with the Rules of the Road and the current regulations, and we correct mistakes as soon as we hear about them. Where anything here disagrees with the official material or with the law, the official version is the one that counts. If you spot something wrong, the contact form is the fastest way to tell us.

Unlocks, payment and refunds

  • An unlock is a one-off payment, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is billed again.

  • Purchases are made inside the app through the App Store or Google Play. They take the payment and are the seller for that transaction.

  • Refunds are therefore requested from Apple or Google under their own policies, not from us — though tell us if something is wrong, because we would rather fix it.

  • An unlock belongs to the store account that bought it. "Restore purchases" in the app brings it back on a new phone signed into the same account.

  • Your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law are not affected by anything here.

Using it fairly

PassDrive is for your own study. Please do not copy, republish, scrape or resell the questions, explanations, guides or sign library, and do not try to break into or disrupt the service. The content, the app and the site remain ours.

Availability

We add to PassDrive and occasionally change or retire parts of it. We do not promise the app or the site will always be available or free of faults, and features may move as the app improves.

Your information

The app has no account and keeps your progress on your own phone; the site sets no cookies. What that means in full — including the contact form and your GDPR rights — is in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Responsibility

PassDrive is provided as study material and is used at your discretion. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using it — including a test result. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer rules.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use PassDrive after that means the new version applies.

Questions

What people ask about this

The same few every time, answered plainly.

Are these the real exam questions?

No. The official bank is not published, and anyone selling you "the real questions" is not telling you the truth. Ours are written to cover the same syllabus, which is what actually gets you through it.

Will PassDrive guarantee I pass?

No, and we would not trust an app that said otherwise. What it can tell you is whether you know the material — three signals drawn from how the real test is marked — so you book when you are ready rather than hoping.

I want a refund. Who do I ask?

Apple or Google, because they took the payment and are the seller for that transaction. Tell us as well if something is wrong with the app, because we would rather fix it than have you queue.

I bought it, then changed phone. Do I pay again?

No. Sign in to the same App Store or Google Play account, install PassDrive, and tap "Restore purchases" in Profile.

Can I use your questions in my own material?

No — the questions, explanations, guides and sign library are ours, and PassDrive is licensed for your own study. Ask through the contact form if you have something else in mind.

The rest of it

Four short documents, and one form that reaches a person.

Still not sure?

Anything here you want explained, or a request about your own data — the contact form reaches the same person who writes the app.
